Through the methodology that used and outputs that were produced the project pursues stronger participation of adults in civic life and in democratic life, as well as increased participation at local and European level. Social inclusion and gender equality were taken into account in order to underlying European values.

The project proposes to enhance the access, participation and learning performance of disadvantaged learners in order to address discrimination, segregation, racism and violence through the use of sport as an educational tool.

To achieve this objective aETS increased quality of adult education in Europe and open it up to cross-sectorial cooperation using newest Virtual Reality tools, as well to professionalize educators by building up their competences to use sport for educational purposes while working with adults.

It intends to foster the development of adult education by connecting formal and non-formal educational sectors, particularly by using sport as a tool for educating people, motivating them to better take part in civic life and non-formal activities. Moreover, the project focuses on fostering pro-active and responsible civic attitude of adults’, mainly of those with fewer opportunities.

The partnership set up a proactive space for cross-sectorial cooperation in view of further enhancing active participation and citizenship, proactive civic attitude, as well as healthy behaviours. Since the project focused on adult educators to become practitioners of the ETS methodology, the quality of adult educations increased, especially at local level, and this aspect is essential for having an impact across Europe organizations working on this topic.
